What we hold,
and what we do not.
This site takes an email address when you ask for a proposal or the company profile, and nothing else. There is no tracking of any kind on these pages. Below is the whole of it, in plain words.
The whole page in six lines.
- We hold what you type into a form, and nothing you did not type.
- We use it to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list.
- We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for advertising.
- There are no cookies, no analytics and no tracking pixels on this site.
- We delete enquiries after 24 months.
- Ask us at any time what we hold, and we will correct it or delete it.
Who is responsible
Donkem Construction Company Limited, registered in Nigeria as RC 448870, at 32 Fatai Oloko Crescent, by Haruna Bus Stop, Ikorodu, Lagos. We are the data controller for anything you send through this website.
For anything on this page, write to info@donkemltd.com or donkemltd@yahoo.com, or call +234 802 314 8440.
What we collect
Only what you fill in. There are two forms on this site.
The proposal brief asks for your name, email address, telephone number and organisation, and about the work: type of building, size, number of floors, whether you have land and drawings, location, budget band, timeline, whether you want a site visit, how you prefer to be contacted, and anything you write in the description.
The company profile request asks for your email address, your organisation, and which of the two documents you want.
Both forms also record the date and time. Neither asks for anything we do not need to price the work or send you the document.
What we do not collect
This site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no advertising tags and no tracking pixels. We do not build a profile of you, we do not follow you to other sites, and no decision about you is made automatically by software.
That has no exception to add. The typefaces are served from this site itself rather than from a font service, so no other company learns that you visited. Nothing on any page here calls out to Google, to an analytics provider, or to an advertising network.
Why we are allowed to hold it
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 we rely on two grounds. When you send a brief, we are taking steps at your request before a possible contract. When you ask for the company profile, we have a legitimate interest in knowing who is evaluating the firm and in being able to reply to you. Neither ground requires us to keep anything longer than we say below.
Who else can see it
- Our own office. Staff at the Ikorodu office who deal with enquiries.
- Netlify, the company that hosts this website and stores form submissions. This means your enquiry is held on servers outside Nigeria.
- A WhatsApp alert so the office knows an enquiry has arrived. It carries only the company name and which document was asked for. It never carries your email address, your telephone number, or any figures.
Nobody else. We do not sell or rent enquiry details, and we do not pass them to other contractors, suppliers or marketing companies.
Company profile links
When our office issues you a link to the full company profile, that link carries the name it was issued to and the date it stops working. We record when a link is opened, so we know the document reached you. That record is deleted with the rest of the enquiry.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are deleted 24 months after we last spoke to you. We chose that period because a client who approaches us this year often returns the next, and it is long enough to be useful without holding anything indefinitely.
If an enquiry becomes an actual contract, the project records are kept for as long as Nigerian company and tax law requires. Those are business records rather than website enquiries, and this page does not govern them.
Your rights
The Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 gives you the following. You do not need a reason, and there is no charge.
- Confirmation. To be told whether we hold anything about you.
- Access. To receive a copy of it.
- Correction. To have anything wrong, out of date or incomplete put right.
- Erasure. To have it deleted where we no longer need it.
- Objection. To tell us to stop processing it.
- Withdrawal of consent. Where we relied on your consent, to take it back.
- Portability. To receive it in a common, machine-readable format.
- Freedom from automated decisions. Not to be subject to a decision made only by software. We make none.
Write to info@donkemltd.com or donkemltd@yahoo.com. We will answer within 30 days, and sooner where we can.
If you are not satisfied
Tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, the regulator for data protection in Nigeria, at ndpc.gov.ng.
Changes to this page
If we change how any of this works, we will change this page and move the revision date below. We will not quietly start doing something this page says we do not do.
Talk to the people
who will build it.
Send the brief and we will price it, or reach the office directly. Either way you hear back within one business day.
